    "Another Deadly Combination"

    January 29, 2018

According to a study published in 2017 by the journal Clinical Toxicology, about 1.3 million Americans are at risk of making a deadly mistake of mixing medications. More people are killed each year from deadly medication interactions than die annually from car accidents - and another familiar name has become part of that statistic.

Although Tom Petty died October 2nd of last year, it wasn't until just recent that we learned the truth of the cause.  According to an autopsy report released by the late singer's wife and daughter, Petty suffered and overdose that was caused by a variety of medication, namely fentanyl and oxycodone.

It's a dirty secret of Big Pharma - little to no research actually exists on exactly how just two (let alone multiple) prescription drugs interact with each other and what fatal effects can be expected. Add to the mix, over the counter medications and your guess is as good as anyone's what can happen. The only safe way to avoid deadly drug interactions is to keep them all out of your body in the first place.

Please note that the clinic will be closed on Monday, February 19th for Family Day. Please see Nicole or Jennifer to make sure you stay on track with your adjustments.
